May 16th, 2012

Chelsea, MA has a population of 35,177 and they have a crime index of 6 – 100 being the safest.  If you lived in Massachusetts you have a 1 In 214 chance of becoming a victim and if you lived in Chelsea, MA you have a 1 in 55 chance of becoming a victim of violent crimes.  Chelsea has a crime rate of 58 per one thousand residents and when compared to all communities of all sizes Chelsea has one of the highest crime rates.  This data coming from neighborhoodscout.com.

Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley, said, “Two men were arraigned in connection with the seizure of more than five kilograms of cocaine and a large quantity of cash that authorities believe are directly related to a major drug distribution operation in Chelsea.”

A 35 year old from Chelsea and a 44 year old from Orlando, Fla., were arraigned in Chelsea District Court on charges of trafficking in more than 200 grams of Class B substance, conspiracy to violate the state’s drug laws, and violating the state’s drug laws in a school zone.  These two were set on a $750,000 bail.

There was a four month Chelsea Police investigation into large-scale drug sales in and around Chelsea.  There were confidential informantants, surveillance and the local and federal law enforcement that all worked together on this investigation.  The two were observed conducting a drug transaction when they were found to have three kilograms of cocaine in a brown bag in the back seat of his car.  While detectives followed one of the cars the gentlemen were in they recovered a large quantity of cocaine and $125,647.  At that time they got another search warrant for a safety deposit box and found $55,000 in cash.

This is a large drug bust for the community of Chelsea.  It is believed that they have put a dent in the supply for the streets of Chelsea.  Chelsea is number 14 in the list of 100 most dangerous cities to live in; located in the United States.  Having the large scale drug availability is one of the reasons for this.  Violent crime follows where there are drugs.  These drugs hurt us, our families and our communities. If someone you know is hooked, get him or her to one of the Boston drug rehabs.

Much money is spent on the deterring of these sorts of crimes.  If you know someone who wants to get off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can detox and withdraw in a safe and natural way.  Something can be done about it.

Newburg, New York Drug Abuse Info

May 13th, 2012

Newburg, New York has a population of 28,866 and it has a crime index of 5 – 100 being the safest.  If you lived in New York you have a 1 in 255 chance of becoming a victim and if you lived in Newburgh you have a 1 in 54 chances of becoming a victim of violent crime.  All of this data comes from neighborhoodscout.com.

The New York state troopers, U.S. Marshalls, Newburg Police officers and other officials were very busy on an April morning.  They made 52 drug arrests in cities across New York with their task force of 150 strong.  Included in this raid were the members of New York’s National Guard Counterdrug Task Force.  These Guardsmen are part of both the Army and Air National Guard.  They are criminal analysts and the New York State Attorney General Office has them assigned to the department.  It is a very special thing to have these guardsmen working with the department because they are trained in military intelligence.  It is very interesting when they put that training into action with the intent to cooperate with police agencies across the state.

There were residents of Newburg that were arrested in this raid as well as many other residents from Poughkeepsie, Albany, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Glen Falls to mention a few.  One of the most important items is that five that were arrested are alleged to be members of the Original Gangsta Killers, an Albany gang, and two others are said to be part of the Bloods. Hopefully in addition to bringing these criminals to justice, efforts were made to get the people that they addicted to drugs out to New York drug rehabs.

The Counterdrug Task Force commander is reporting that members of the task force helped the larger task force develop intelligence and also provided network analysis.  They also get to local law enforcement agencies some military equipment like night goggles, devices that can scan motor vehicles for hidden items and helicopters.

The New York Counterdrug Task Force works hard every day to keep drugs from flooding communities in the New York area.  Newburgh is number 12 in the list of 100 most dangerous cities to live in; located in the United States.  Drug abuse does harm many parts of our lives.  When it gets to be so prevalent in our communities much money is spent to stop its distribution.  New York has much to be proud of with the National Guards being of assistance to local law enforcement agencies.  If you know someone who wants to get off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can get safe and natural ways to detox and withdraw.  Something can be done about it.

Camden, New Jersey Drug Abuse Info

May 10th, 2012

According to neighborhoodscout.com Camden, New Jersey has a population of 77,344.  It has a crime index of 3 and 100 being the safest.  If you lived in New Jersey you have a 1 in 324 chance of becoming a victim and if you lived in Camden, New Jersey you have a 1 in 41 chance of becoming a victim of violent crime.  Camden has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes.  The crime rate is 71 per one thousand residents.

Nj.com is reporting what authorities are aware of in Camden and that is 70 percent of those arrested during a drug buying sting in Camden were found to have traveled to the city from the suburbs.  Undercover police officers were acting like drug sellers in the Lanning Square neighborhood.  Because of this sting operation they arrested 49 suspects who were charged with loitering to commit a controlled dangerous substance offense.  Of the 49 –35 came to Camden from the suburbs of Camden, Gloucester, Burlington and Atlantic counties.

Police Chief John Thomson said, “Suburban drug buyers are the life blood to Camden’s open air drug market epidemic.” If these buyers could get themselves to Edison drug rehabs, perhaps the drug and crime epidemic would improve.

Earlier this year Camden’s police department and the Camden’s County Prosecutor’s office is warning people whose cars turn up on video of drug hot spots.  Plans are being made to send out 624 letters to people whose license plates have been spotted just recently at one drug corner.  The letters are saying that they could lose their cars and face arrest if they keep buying drugs.  90% of the letters were sent to suburbanites.  Police Chief Scott Thomson said, “Its good police work flagging people who would have been stopped by police in person if there were enough officers.  The information is also being shared with suburban police in hopes it will help them crack some property crime cases.”

In December of 2011 Governor Christie sent state troopers to this area.  He said, “I am not saying how many troopers will be stationed in the crime-plagued city, or for how long they will stay.  As Mayor (Dana) Redd and county officials are taking bold, necessary action to implement a long term policing strategy centered on a regionalized police force, I am taking action to deploy additional resources to support the public safety need of Camden right now.  The State Police’s presence in Camden is nothing new.  The division has kept a contingent of troopers in the city for the past nine years, and it helps investigate about 70 percent of the shootings in the city.”

Camden is one of the 100 most dangerous cities in the US to live in.  It does look like there are many things being done to fight the war on drugs and the violence that comes with it.  If you know someone who wants to get off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can get safe ways to detox and withdraw.  Something can be done about it.

East St. Louis, Illinois Drug Abuse

May 7th, 2012

Just recently East St. Louis, Illinois was voted as the number one most dangerous city in the United States, according to Neighborhood Scout.  The following could be one of the reasons.  Authorities arrested 14 people on crack cocaine charges; after they had a month long investigation at the East St. Louis Park.

There was a joint effort by the East St. Louis police, other local officials, and federal agencies.  These authorities used video surveillance at the park on 24th street and St. Louis ave.  Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Joe Beliveau said: “Neighborhood kids had not been able to play on the playground for years and now they are out playing again.  My department has received many calls from citizens thanking officers for cleaning up the park.  During the surveillance most days drug dealers did not go more than five minutes without a customer pulling up to purchase crack cocaine.  It was pretty much non-stop.  The camera captured drug sales while kids played nearby.”

After this investigation there were four charged and they are believed to have been distributors of crack.  They are charged with unlawful possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance in a public park.  They are being help on $750,000 bail.  Ten other people were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Let’s hope that some of these people get themselves to Springfield drug rehabs as well.

East St. Louis mayor Alvin Parks applauded the police efforts.  He said, “Children bring such life to the community.  So when you can see them come and play and swing and slide and run, playing on the monkey bars and doing all the things that help to build them physically as well as build their social skills, it means the world to us in East St. Louis.  Now that the police have taken back over the park, we got a place they can come and play.”

Perhaps the officials of this community are doing some very good things to make this city a safe place to live.  Drugs can do very much harm to entire communities.  If you know someone who wants to get off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can get safe and natural ways to detox and withdraw.  Something can be done about it.

Club Drugs

May 4th, 2012

From New York;  Reuters Health has some interesting information for us concerning Club drugs.  In medicine when they talk about Ketamine it is used as an anesthetic.  When you talk about how it is used in clubs that is a different story.  In clubs it is better known as “special K” and some people snort it or inject it.  These people say that the drug creates feelings of euphoria and they feel like they are “out of the body”.

It has been noticed just lately that the abuse of Ketamine is on the rise.  So if person uses this drug over and over it can cause them to have mental problems like hallucination and impaired memory and concentration.  It can also make a person have high blood pressure.  But wait a minute there are other side effects that can be very unpleasant.  Some of these are urinary tract symptoms, like pains in the lower belly, painful urination, blood in the urine and bladder-control problems.

UK researchers found and reported in a study that of 1,285 young adults who said they had abused ketamine in the past year, 27 percent had developed urinary tract symptoms.  These researchers also found that of the past years 17 percent had symptoms of dependence on Ketamine.  These people wanted to cut down but could not so they took the drug in bigger doses and more often.  Of course the team found the odds of urinary problems and abdominal pain went up as people’s ketamine climbed.

Another study of 251 people who responded with their experience; half said they had stopped using the drug and their symptoms had improved.  Another 43 percent still had urinary problems but they were still abusing ketamine.  Four percent of this group reported their urinary problems were getting worse even though they were off the ketamine.

More studies are being done at this time but it looks like you get to a stage where the damage to your bladder is irreversible. So if you need help from one of the New York drug rehabs, get it now.

That is a high price to pay just for some fun.  Maybe there are some people who don’t do it just for fun they get addicted and they can’t stop using.  If you know someone who needs help getting off this drug; get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can get safe and natural ways to detox and withdraw.  Something can be done about it.

Un-Do Cocaine

February 22nd, 2012

Perezhilton.com wants to know “How does someone “un” do cocaine?”  I’m sure he can’t just sneeze it out.  Well it looks like the way you do it is just get the Judge to dismiss your case.  Only in Vegas.  The old saying what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!! Ask the star Bruno Mars and he will tell you about when he was arrested in September 2010 for doing coke in one of the bathroom stalls at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.  The way he handled it was to plead guilty.  The judge did not convict him but gave him 200 hours of community service and had him attend drug education classe.  That is an unusual thing to happen to make a person finally get educated what drugs can do to you.

Bruno actually did 230 hours of community service.  He was terrific working with children’s charities and going to class was not that bad for him.  His lawyer was busy for him and he met with the Judge so tomorrow the coke charge will go away.

That is a good story because it ended in a good way.  The only piece of information that is missing is did Bruno really get the message how harmful this drug is to him.  How it can hurt his health and even his career in music.

If only more people could be as lucky their story would end that way also.  The truth of the matter is that cocaine is all over the “stars”, they have money to buy and they love the euphoria that comes with it.  They do sometimes get into serious trouble with this drug.  Get educated about what cocaine is really all about.

What’s in Your Cocaine?

November 29th, 2011

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is reporting in April of 2011 that eight-two percent of seized cocaine contains Levamisole.  The usual fillers in cocaine are baking soda but it is found that Levamisole is being used by dealers to stretch their stash.  It is not clear why they are doing this except the fact that studies in rats suggest the drug acts on the same brain receptors as cocaine.  We are thinking they are adding it to enhance or extend the cocaine’s effects.  So what else are we finding because of this drug.  This cocaine with the drug Levamisole could be the reason in a flurry of flesh-eating disease in New York and Los Angeles.  The vets use this drug to deworm cattle and other animals and it can rot the skin off noses, ears and cheeks.  What is very alarming is that over 80% of the country’s coke supply contains it.  Dr. Noah Craft, a dermatologist with Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute is quoted as saying, “It’s probably quite a big problem and we just don’t know yet how big a problem it really is.”  There were case studies done and Craft describes six cocaine users recently plagued by the dark purple patches of dying flesh.  These users were from the country’s coastlines but the problem is national.  Craft is one of several doctors who come from across the country and they have linked the rotting skin to tainted coke.  The wounds on the addict surface days after a hit because of an immune reaction that attacks the blood vessels supplying the skin.  Now we all know without blood the skin starves and suffocates.

Even though there is a widespread of this contamination not all the cocaine users are experiencing the flesh rotting reaction.  Some may be more vulnerable to the tainted cocaine’s effects.  Levamisole can cause rotting skin and it can also prevent the bone marrow from producing infection fighting white blood cells.  What a price to pay just for the high you need because you are an addict.  Dr. Craft said, “that it is a little bit like having HIV.”  Users that have taken in cocaine just recently should get some medical attention.  This condition can be fatal.  “About 10 percent of those patients will die from severe infections.  They may be walking around like a time bomb.”

If you or someone you love has a cocaine problem, make a call to an inpatient drug rehab you can rely on.  The phone number is 1-877-340-3602.  Cocaine addiction is a serious problem, but you can be helped.

Statistics on Cocaine and Heroin

October 27th, 2011

Some of us have an idea that Cocaine and heroin are being used each day.  In fact we probably have friends that are using tonight at their end of week gatherings.  Let’s talk turkey, not the bird but the real facts about cocaine and heroin in this country.  The Substance Abuse and mental health Services administration did a survey in 1995 on Drug Abuse and this is what they found.  That an estimated 533,000 first time users in 1994 represented a 60 percent decline.  That is a good figure.  The number of frequent users in 1995 was estimated at 582,000 and had not changed noticeably since 1985.  That means that first time users was decreasing and addicts of the drug were still doing their thing.

When we talk about heroin we know that there are approximately 600,000 people in his country that are addicted to it.  Reports with the help of the Office of National Drug Control in D.C.  are stating that there is an increase since the 1980s.  Now that snorting and smoking heroin is available and the fact that there is more pure heroin on the market are some of the reasons why it is increasing.  The survey concluded while there were older users of heroin who had turned into long term abusers there is a growing number of teenagers and young adults that are now using the drug.  Heroin related deaths are on the increase.  It is reported that heroin fatalities were up 34 percent in Phoenix, 29 percent in Denver and 25 percents in New Orleans. Let’s Talk about Crack Cocaine

October 23rd, 2011

Cocaine normally comes in powder form; Crack cocaine is the crystal form of cocaine.  It comes in blocks or crystals and it is in different colors from yellow to pale rose or white.  Before you smoke crack you heat it.  The reason it is called crack is because when you heat it it makes a cracking sound or popping sound.

Crack is the most potent form in which you can get cocaine.  Because of that it is also the riskiest.  It is between 75% and 100% pure and it is stronger and more potent than regular cocaine.  When you smoke crack it reaches the brain quickly and so you get an intense high.  But this high is short lived it only last about 15 minutes.  When you smoke crack you can develop an addiction more rapidly than if you snorted it.  That is very alarming.  You can smoke crack only once and then you can get addicted.

Let’s get the facts and get the real answer which is don’t do the drugs in the first place.

It is very expensive to use cocaine and because of this it has been known as the” rich man’s drug”.  Crack on the other hand is sold at a very low price even teen agers can afford to buy it..  at first.  The truth is that once they get addicted the expense goes way up so they can support the habit.

If you need some help getting drug-free contact us our crack rehab hotline at 1-877-340-3602.

Crack Cocaine and Children: The Most Innocent Victims

October 16th, 2011

Babies that are born to mothers who are on crack cocaine are the most innocent victims.  If a mother uses crack while she is pregnant then her baby will be addicted also.  Some mom’s don’t realize this.  What’s worse they are so wrapped up in this addiction they don’t even care.

The March of Dimes has put out information that when a pregnant mother uses crack cocaine it can affect the unborn baby in many ways.  During the early months of her pregnancy a mother may increase the risk of a miscarriage.  Use of this drug during pregnancy may cause the baby to have a stroke, permanent brain damage or a heart attack.  Who would want to cause that to their unborn child?

The National Institute for Drug Abuse reported that if a pregnant mother exposes her child to crack cocaine it may lead to significant problems in later years for the child.

“I was introduced to crack cocaine, and that is when everything stopped functioning.  I was out with some people who at that time I considered real close friends.  You know, it is true what they say about crack:  when you take that first hit, that high you will never get again…  ““Crack cocaine has ruined my reputation, my self-worth and my self-respect.”  Diane

This comes from a young woman who could have children and the effects would b e shared with that child.
