Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley, said, “Two men were arraigned in connection with the seizure of more than five kilograms of cocaine and a large quantity of cash that authorities believe are directly related to a major drug distribution operation in Chelsea.”

A 35 year old from Chelsea and a 44 year old from Orlando, Fla., were arraigned in Chelsea District Court on charges of trafficking in more than 200 grams of Class B substance, conspiracy to violate the state’s drug laws, and violating the state’s drug laws in a school zone.  These two were set on a $750,000 bail.

There was a four month Chelsea Police investigation into large-scale drug sales in and around Chelsea.  There were confidential informantants, surveillance and the local and federal law enforcement that all worked together on this investigation.  The two were observed conducting a drug transaction when they were found to have three kilograms of cocaine in a brown bag in the back seat of his car.  While detectives followed one of the cars the gentlemen were in they recovered a large quantity of cocaine and $125,647.  At that time they got another search warrant for a safety deposit box and found $55,000 in cash.

This is a large drug bust for the community of Chelsea.  It is believed that they have put a dent in the supply for the streets of Chelsea.  Chelsea is number 14 in the list of 100 most dangerous cities to live in; located in the United States.  Having the large scale drug availability is one of the reasons for this.  Violent crime follows where there are drugs.  These drugs hurt us, our families and our communities. If someone you know is hooked, get him or her to one of the Boston drug rehabs.

Much money is spent on the deterring of these sorts of crimes.  If you know someone who wants to get off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can detox and withdraw in a safe and natural way.  Something can be done about it.

Newburg, New York Drug Abuse Info

Sunday, May 13th, 2012

Newburg, New York has a population of 28,866 and it has a crime index of 5 – 100 being the safest.  If you lived in New York you have a 1 in 255 chance of becoming a victim and if you lived in Newburgh you have a 1 in 54 chances of becoming a victim of violent crime.  All of this data comes from neighborhoodscout.com.

The New York state troopers, U.S. Marshalls, Newburg Police officers and other officials were very busy on an April morning.  They made 52 drug arrests in cities across New York with their task force of 150 strong.  Included in this raid were the members of New York’s National Guard Counterdrug Task Force.  These Guardsmen are part of both the Army and Air National Guard.  They are criminal analysts and the New York State Attorney General Office has them assigned to the department.  It is a very special thing to have these guardsmen working with the department because they are trained in military intelligence.  It is very interesting when they put that training into action with the intent to cooperate with police agencies across the state.

There were residents of Newburg that were arrested in this raid as well as many other residents from Poughkeepsie, Albany, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Glen Falls to mention a few.  One of the most important items is that five that were arrested are alleged to be members of the Original Gangsta Killers, an Albany gang, and two others are said to be part of the Bloods. Hopefully in addition to bringing these criminals to justice, efforts were made to get the people that they addicted to drugs out to New York drug rehabs.

The Counterdrug Task Force commander is reporting that members of the task force helped the larger task force develop intelligence and also provided network analysis.  They also get to local law enforcement agencies some military equipment like night goggles, devices that can scan motor vehicles for hidden items and helicopters.

The New York Counterdrug Task Force works hard every day to keep drugs from flooding communities in the New York area.  Newburgh is number 12 in the list of 100 most dangerous cities to live in; located in the United States.  Drug abuse does harm many parts of our lives.  When it gets to be so prevalent in our communities much money is spent to stop its distribution.  New York has much to be proud of with the National Guards being of assistance to local law enforcement agencies.  If you know someone who wants to get off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can get safe and natural ways to detox and withdraw.  Something can be done about it.

Camden, New Jersey Drug Abuse Info

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

According to neighborhoodscout.com Camden, New Jersey has a population of 77,344.  It has a crime index of 3 and 100 being the safest.  If you lived in New Jersey you have a 1 in 324 chance of becoming a victim and if you lived in Camden, New Jersey you have a 1 in 41 chance of becoming a victim of violent crime.  Camden has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes.  The crime rate is 71 per one thousand residents.

Nj.com is reporting what authorities are aware of in Camden and that is 70 percent of those arrested during a drug buying sting in Camden were found to have traveled to the city from the suburbs.  Undercover police officers were acting like drug sellers in the Lanning Square neighborhood.  Because of this sting operation they arrested 49 suspects who were charged with loitering to commit a controlled dangerous substance offense.  Of the 49 –35 came to Camden from the suburbs of Camden, Gloucester, Burlington and Atlantic counties.

Police Chief John Thomson said, “Suburban drug buyers are the life blood to Camden’s open air drug market epidemic.” If these buyers could get themselves to Edison drug rehabs, perhaps the drug and crime epidemic would improve.

Earlier this year Camden’s police department and the Camden’s County Prosecutor’s office is warning people whose cars turn up on video of drug hot spots.  Plans are being made to send out 624 letters to people whose license plates have been spotted just recently at one drug corner.  The letters are saying that they could lose their cars and face arrest if they keep buying drugs.  90% of the letters were sent to suburbanites.  Police Chief Scott Thomson said, “Its good police work flagging people who would have been stopped by police in person if there were enough officers.  The information is also being shared with suburban police in hopes it will help them crack some property crime cases.”

In December of 2011 Governor Christie sent state troopers to this area.  He said, “I am not saying how many troopers will be stationed in the crime-plagued city, or for how long they will stay.  As Mayor (Dana) Redd and county officials are taking bold, necessary action to implement a long term policing strategy centered on a regionalized police force, I am taking action to deploy additional resources to support the public safety need of Camden right now.  The State Police’s presence in Camden is nothing new.  The division has kept a contingent of troopers in the city for the past nine years, and it helps investigate about 70 percent of the shootings in the city.”

Camden is one of the 100 most dangerous cities in the US to live in.  It does look like there are many things being done to fight the war on drugs and the violence that comes with it.  If you know someone who wants to get off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can get safe ways to detox and withdraw.  Something can be done about it.

East St. Louis, Illinois Drug Abuse

Monday, May 7th, 2012

Just recently East St. Louis, Illinois was voted as the number one most dangerous city in the United States, according to Neighborhood Scout.  The following could be one of the reasons.  Authorities arrested 14 people on crack cocaine charges; after they had a month long investigation at the East St. Louis Park.

There was a joint effort by the East St. Louis police, other local officials, and federal agencies.  These authorities used video surveillance at the park on 24th street and St. Louis ave.  Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Joe Beliveau said: “Neighborhood kids had not been able to play on the playground for years and now they are out playing again.  My department has received many calls from citizens thanking officers for cleaning up the park.  During the surveillance most days drug dealers did not go more than five minutes without a customer pulling up to purchase crack cocaine.  It was pretty much non-stop.  The camera captured drug sales while kids played nearby.”

After this investigation there were four charged and they are believed to have been distributors of crack.  They are charged with unlawful possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance in a public park.  They are being help on $750,000 bail.  Ten other people were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Let’s hope that some of these people get themselves to Springfield drug rehabs as well.

East St. Louis mayor Alvin Parks applauded the police efforts.  He said, “Children bring such life to the community.  So when you can see them come and play and swing and slide and run, playing on the monkey bars and doing all the things that help to build them physically as well as build their social skills, it means the world to us in East St. Louis.  Now that the police have taken back over the park, we got a place they can come and play.”

Perhaps the officials of this community are doing some very good things to make this city a safe place to live.  Drugs can do very much harm to entire communities.  If you know someone who wants to get off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can get safe and natural ways to detox and withdraw.  Something can be done about it.

Club Drugs

Friday, May 4th, 2012

From New York;  Reuters Health has some interesting information for us concerning Club drugs.  In medicine when they talk about Ketamine it is used as an anesthetic.  When you talk about how it is used in clubs that is a different story.  In clubs it is better known as “special K” and some people snort it or inject it.  These people say that the drug creates feelings of euphoria and they feel like they are “out of the body”.

It has been noticed just lately that the abuse of Ketamine is on the rise.  So if person uses this drug over and over it can cause them to have mental problems like hallucination and impaired memory and concentration.  It can also make a person have high blood pressure.  But wait a minute there are other side effects that can be very unpleasant.  Some of these are urinary tract symptoms, like pains in the lower belly, painful urination, blood in the urine and bladder-control problems.

UK researchers found and reported in a study that of 1,285 young adults who said they had abused ketamine in the past year, 27 percent had developed urinary tract symptoms.  These researchers also found that of the past years 17 percent had symptoms of dependence on Ketamine.  These people wanted to cut down but could not so they took the drug in bigger doses and more often.  Of course the team found the odds of urinary problems and abdominal pain went up as people’s ketamine climbed.

Another study of 251 people who responded with their experience; half said they had stopped using the drug and their symptoms had improved.  Another 43 percent still had urinary problems but they were still abusing ketamine.  Four percent of this group reported their urinary problems were getting worse even though they were off the ketamine.

More studies are being done at this time but it looks like you get to a stage where the damage to your bladder is irreversible. So if you need help from one of the New York drug rehabs, get it now.

That is a high price to pay just for some fun.  Maybe there are some people who don’t do it just for fun they get addicted and they can’t stop using.  If you know someone who needs help getting off this drug; get them to an inpatient treatment center or cocaine addiction rehab where they can get safe and natural ways to detox and withdraw.  Something can be done about it.

Cocaine Abuse – What Can Be Done About It

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

Cocaine abuse is growing rapidly. While the hight of its popularity seemed to be decades ago, that is simply not true.

Unfortunately, these days you can find some form of cocaine in schools, parties, the work place and at home. But what are the signs that someone is on cocaine? How you can tell if your loved one is addicted to a drug that has the ability to consume a person after the first use?

It’s important to realize that not many people can hide the fact that they are under the influence of cocaine. The short term symptoms can be seen immediately. Some effects are increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, decreased appetite, increased energy, dilated pupils, and increased temperature.

Some long-term effects of the drug are; obsessiveness of getting high, paranoia, irritability, restlessness, and mood disturbances. These effects become more noticeable as the cocaine use goes on and as the person’s tolerance to the drug builds up.

Cocaine addiction does not have to go unhandled. If you or someone you know is in need of help please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 immediately.

Baby born with cocaine in system – drug treatment program solution

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

The South Carolina Herald Online reported today that a pregnant woman had given birth to a baby with drugs in its system. The baby was tested soon after the woman left the morning after giving birth without her baby which was captured on video.  The state Department of Social Services as since taken custody of the infant who tested postive for caine and marijuana according to the Rock Hill police report.

Drug abuse is bad enough without it inflicting damage on an innocent baby. A cocaine addiction treatment program which not only addresses the physical addiction, but also the reasons behind the use in the first place is what is necessary to help people clean up their lives and thus prevent this sort of tragedy from occuring in the future.

Cocaine Use Damages Lives

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Chicago Tribune, November 5, 2009, reports:

Man Charged in Fatal Wreck Tested Positive for Cocaine, Prosecutors Say
Driver suspected of causing crash that left pregnant woman dead

More than ever, effective drug rehabs are needed in order to prevent further tragedies such as those found in this case:

“A Chicago man charged with causing a wreck that killed a pregnant mother of five as she stood on a West Side sidewalk tested positive for cocaine after the crash, prosecutors said Wednesday.

James E. Cox, 39, was ordered held in lieu of $500,000 bail by Judge Maria Kuriakos-Cesil.

Cox was charged Tuesday with aggravated driving under the influence, causing a death.”

Drug abuse is a serious problem and when cocaine is involved, not only is the abuser at risk, he puts others around him in harm’s way as well.  Cocaine side effects can include muscle twitches, paranoia, anxiety, panic attacks, tremors and vertigo.
